Meet Founder & Artistic Director

Nailah Flake-Brown

InnerVisions Theater Arts Center was founded by Nailah Flake-Brown in July 2008. Nailah has been dancing since the age of four, and throughout her pre-college years, attended Theater of Dance Movement and Devore Dance Center, where she trained in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, African, Tap and Pointe. She danced in their performing

Nailah attended Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Economics and a minor in Business Management and Organization. Throughout her college years, Nailah danced and choreographed for numerous productions at Spelman and was the captain of the Morehouse College Mahagony-N-Motion Dance Team.

Currently, she serves as the co-director of the 200 member dance ministry at the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral of NY, where she has produced and performed in several major productions which incorporate dance, drama and music.

Although Nailah has a strong passion for the arts, and for teaching and training dancers, she has achieved much success in her over 18-year-career in investment banking, finance and capital markets. She is currently a Managing Director at Brookfield Real Estate Financial Partners. Prior to Brookfield, she was Managing Director of Morgan Stanley and Head of U.S. Originations for the Commercial Real Estate Lending Group in the Fixed Income Division. She is also a Board Member of the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning and the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development.

Nailah is the recipient of many honors and awards in recognition of her professional achievement and community leadership, including The Network Journal’s 40 Under Forty Achievement Award. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and the Greater New York Chapter of the Links, Incorporated.
